Whenever this subject comes up, it's very interesting how folks react. Some people react very passionately and others react indifferently. But almost always, folks think they know the definitive answer as to WHY WOMEN CHEAT. Societal structures dictate that people assume that men cheat more often. That isn't the case. It's more about the reasons why women cheat vs. the frequency of cheating that makes it interesting.
According to the website Truth about Deception - "Men are more likely to cheat opportunistically. That is, more often and with someone who may be less attractive or desirable than their current partner. Women, by comparison, tend to cheat more selectively. Women tend to be more flirtatious, risk-taking, and act in sexually provocative ways when they are ovulating (see, Thornhill and Gangestad, 2008). Women are also attracted to more masculine and physically attractive men when ovulating (see, Thornhill and Gangestad, 2008)."
Women cheat opportunistically. Hmmm... We can interpret this comment in so many different ways. Let's explore this conversation more below and in more detail.
I would love to hear your feedback on this subject. As a woman and someone who has cheated and been cheated on in the past, I have my own spin on this. What do you think?
